Day 9 (30.05.2024)

On the 9th day of our practice, we went to Toqi Telpakfurushon. I mentioned the following: "Toki Telpakfurushon is an architectural monument in Bukhara and was one of the trade centers built for the sale and manufacture of headgear. This architectural monument was built in 1571 during the reign of Shaibani ruler Abdullah Khan II. Currently, it is included in the national list of real estate objects of material and cultural heritage of Uzbekistan.Tepakfurushon was built in the 16th century during Shaybani ruler Abdullah Khan II, who ruled Bukhara Khanate, and was built near the intersection. In the Middle Ages, here and there were sold fox and beaver turbans, turbans, and wonderful turbans. Toqi Teplakfurushon has been called differently in different periods. The Tepakfurushon dome is the second largest in terms of preservation and size. For example, Choharsuyi Akhanin, Toqi Kitabfurushon and Toqi Khoja Muhammad Parron were famous. Later it was called by names like Toqi Allofi and Toqi Ordfurushon. In the Middle Ages, there were shops of bookbinders selling books on the mountain. This mountain is distinguished from other mountains by its size. Toki Tepakfurushon now has a blacksmith shop and a bathhouse. Currently, there are stalls and craft workshops in Toqi Telpakfurushon. During the years of independence, Toki Telpakfurushon was renovated.Toki Tepakfurushon is made of brick, wood, stone and concrete. The architect combined five fan-shaped streets into a regular hexagon-shaped room, making wonderful turns. The roof of the room on this hill is covered with a huge dome. Until Tepakfurushon dome has windows. It has an odd hexagonal shape, with windows and doors in the central dome. Toqi Telpakfurushon still decorates the store windows of iraqi, zardoppi, and other various hats. According to the foundation documents, it was built at the intersection of 5 streets coming from different sides (1570-1571). The main dome is placed on a 6-sided wall, surrounded by a street, and the entrances from the streets are covered with small domes. The diameter of the dome is 38 meters, the ceiling of the hall is 10 meters, the preserved area of the shopping street is 28 meters, the width of the street is 14 meters. In the past, under the dome were the shops of bookbinders selling hats and books."
